Q + A with Chris Burke:
Personal Trainer/ Fitness Coach
What sparked your interest in yoga, Pilates, barre and/or functional fitness?
I like all forms of movement, but my focus is on functional movement. I was rehabbing old injuries that were effecting my ability to care for my toddler daughter and recognized the imbalances that were causing me pain. I decided it was time to fix those--and hopefully help others to live pain and injury free. It has also had a huge impact on my racing (triathlon and ultra-running).
When did you decide to start teaching these practices?
Only recently...I've been around the Align studio since it opened, and I'm stoked to start teaching here.
What fuels your inspiration and creativity?
Nature, meditation and moving my body
Favorite pose or workout?
Anything that gets (and keeps) my HR up and makes me sweat!
Favorite jams to listen to while teaching?
My ideal jams add energy and rhythm to the class. I'm always into Imagine Dragons, Bruno Mars and The Weeknd
Favorite affirmation and or/quote?
When I do good I feel good, when I do bad I feel bad, and that's my religion. --Abraham Lincoln
Favorite “healthy” treat?

It effects every aspect of our lives--health, relationships, work and beyond
Three words to describe yourself today?
Caffeinated, Motivated, Hopeful
Coolest place you have been?
Tulum, MX is my favorite place in the world
Places you want to visit?
Vietnam and Thailand are very high on my list
You feel most ecstatic and confident when you are?
Running mountain trails or swimming in the ocean
Your Patronus is?
Well...after I googled Patronus, a quiz told me it's a Husky.
Three words that describe your style?
What challenges have you grown from and overcome while teaching or practicing?
Just letting my body guide me and letting go of any expectations and pressure of what that day or workout should "be".

Sleeping in (guilt free)

Coffee or tea?
Last movie you saw in theaters…?
Just to give you an idea of what it's like to have a young kiddo...the last one I remember was GRAVITY w/ Sandra Bullock...I'm very thankful for Netflix!
